Amy Dowden has admitted to feeling in 'limbo' as she offered an update on her cancer journey. The Strictly Come Dancing star was overwhelmed with emotion earlier this month as she revealed she'd finished chemotherapy.
Amy went through eight rounds of chemo after being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer earlier this month. The heartbreaking news came after found a lump in her right breast before going on her long-awaited honeymoon with her new husband Ben Jones. She confirmed her diagnosis publically after undergoing a mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.
But earlier this month, the 34-year-old was emotionally able to ring the bell in the hospital to signal the end of her treatment. Alongside the video of the special moment in which she was supported by her family, nurses and hospital staff, she said: "I rang the bell and I’m so thankful I got too," before speaking of her "toughest journey yet".

Now, after finishing her treatment, in a new post on her Instagram stories Amy provided an update on how she is adjusting to her new routine without her more regular visits to the hospital.
Amy reposted the poignant clip of the moment she rang the cancer treatment bell. She wrote to her fans and followers: "Can't believe it's a whole two weeks ago! I'm off to the unit again today for my monthly injection."
She then added: "But it does feel strange as when your in chemo cycles there's such a routine and at the moment you feel a little in limbo! But still so very proud of this moment!"
It comes after Amy was left heartbroken to reveal another setback she suffered as she fractured her foot amid a planned return to the Strictly ballroom. Sharing picture of her wearing a a protective boot on her right foot on Instagram, she wrote: "Not the week I was hoping for since finishing chemo. Port out but unfortunately gained a boot for a fractured foot.
"Absolutely gutted and heartbroken as this means the plans for me to dance in the Strictly Ballroom this year are no longer possible. This is what has kept me going the past few months. 2023 is certainly not my year, roll on 2024 I say!" Her Strictly co-stars were quick to offer their supportive messages. Janette Manrara said: "Oh no! Well in that case 2024 could not be coming sooner!" Dianne Buswell replied: "Thinking of ya my amy. next year is yours !!!!!" Amanda Abbington wrote: "Sending you the most love!!! Rest up beautiful girl." Joanne Clifton added: "Oh Amy I’m sending so much love!"
