Coronation Street fans were left saying 'Don't scare me' as the show was flooded with messages for Sue Nicholls. The ITV soap took to social media to share their birthday wishes for the actress as she celebrated a milestone occasion.
Sue, famed for playing Audrey Roberts in the ITV soap, was marking turning 80 on Thursday (November 23) and Corrie shared a gorgeous portrait of one of its most famous stars on Instagram, Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) to publically acknowledge the special occasion.
Alongside the gorgeous snap as well as others of Sue on the cobbles as Audrey, including enjoying a sing-song with on-screen daughter Helen Worth, who plays Gail Platt, Corrie said: "Happy 80th Birthday to the wonderful Sue Nicholls! Lots of love from everyone at Coronation Street."

And after fans and followers got over the fear of this post being a different kind of announcement, they were quick to share birthday messages for Sue, including a couple of her Corrie co-stars.
Jane Hazlegrove, who plays Bernie Winter in the ITV soap, said: "Classy lady! Classy actor! Still in awe when I get to chat with her… Happy Birthday oh fabulous Sue!!!" Cassie Plummer actress Claire Sweeney simply replied: "Legend," with a red heart. Samia Longchambon, known as Corrie's Maria Windass, commented: "Happy birthday to the best boss EVER."
Tina O'Brien, who plays on-screen granddaughter Sarah Barlow, posted: "Happy birthday. Simply the best." Leanne Battersby actress Jane Danson replied: "Happy birthday darling Sue." Andy Whyment, famed for starring as Kirk Sutherland, shared: "Ah Happy Birthday to the lovely Sue."
