But the file I merged actually worked! I have checked for solutions and possible driver updates to no avail. Guess its really a hardware problem.

Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums–revealing personal deivce such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended. It’s a common procedure but can scare some. Two weeks ago it stoped burning again and still doesn’t want to The mechanics inside these devices are not well designed for durability.
I’m sure its not the media brands as I’ve tried with many. The first thing to do in trying to troubleshoot the drive is simply take Windows out of the equation.

It just doesn’t want to burn on all kinds of discs. Just in case I’m wrong, you can download the Autoplay Repair Tool and run it.
