A man has appeared in court accused of owning an XL bully which injured a teenager.

Philip Whiteside denied a single charge of having his dog, named Hercules, dangerously out of control and causing injury on December 17 last year.

The 32-year-old defendant, from Hope Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne, appeared for a brief hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on Monday.
