Manchester United could be without up to nine players when they resume their Premier League campaign against Everton on Sunday.
Andre Onana and Facundo Pellistri sustained injuries on international duty with Cameroon and Uruguay, while Lisandro Martinez (foot), Casemiro (hamstring), Jonny Evans (thigh) and Christian Eriksen (knee) are out until December, at the earliest.
Martinez and Casemiro are not expected back until after Christmas but Eriksen and Evans could return for the visit of Chelsea on December 6.

Rasmus Hojlund withdrew from the Denmark squad after he was forced off with a hamstring strain in the second half of United's win against Luton Town on November 11.
Hojlund was not involved in United's training session at Carrington on Wednesday and his potential absence at Goodison Park could see Anthony Martial return to the starting XI in the Premier League for the first time since September 3.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has recovered from illness that caused him to miss the Luton win and Luke Shaw is back in training after a three-month absence with a hamstring tear.
Tyrell Malacia, out since July, is still recovering from knee surgery and Amad is continuing his rehabilitation from a knee problem.
Onana came off in Cameroon's 3-0 win against Mauritius in Douala last week and Pellistri was substituted in Uruguay's 3-0 defeat of Bolivia on Tuesday night.
