It's a firm favourite with families in Manchester and the Christmas Drive-In cinema is returning this December with some festive hits. The 'enchanting' drive-in cinema experience is set against the backdrop of the twinkling lights at the AJ Bell Stadium in Eccles, Salford.
Promising classic Christmas films, festive treats, and heart-warming cheer, the event, which is now in its ninth year, runs over three dates, with six screenings in all. Audiences can indulge in an array of festive street food, sip on some signature hot chocolate, and gather around a fire pit to toast marshmallows.
Organisers say it's 'more than just a movie night, it's a celebration of the joy and warmth of the holiday season'. It also features the event's popular in-car karaoke, along with a special message from Santa, directly from the North Pole.

Jake Paul, head of entertainment for the drive-in, said: “Christmas is the most magical time of year, a time for reflection, a time for people to get together and enjoy each other's company. The Christmas Drive-In has been a Manchester tradition for nine years, and each year we welcome old friends and new believers to celebrate the joy of cinema in a very special surrounding.”
Visitors are encouraged to take along blankets and pillows for their cars and wear their Christmas jumpers to get in the festive spirit. You can take your own food and drink along if you wish.
Tickets are per car for unlimited guests and cost £29 plus a £2.59 booking fee. See the website to book. Audio is broadcast directly to your car via your FM radio using the frequency given to you on arrival.
