Marks and Spencer has today announced the opening date for its massive new store in the Trafford Centre. The retailer has been feverishly transforming the site of the former Debenhams store over the past couple of months and will open to customers for the first time on November 30.

Shoppers can expect to enjoy 'spacious and stylish' new clothing, home and beauty departments as well as a new-look marketplace-feel M&S Foodhall, set across a 98,000 sq ft commercial space. Customers can also expect a 138-seat M&S café, which has been described as having a 'an award-winning new design' by the retailer.

In September, bosses announced that more than 180 news jobs were being created in readiness for the new Regent Crescent store launch. Staff at the existing M&S inside the shopping mall will transfer over to the huge new site, but the jobs announced were in addition to those existing roles.

The former Debenhams site at the Trafford Centre has stood vacant since May 2021 when all physical locations were shuttered due to the company going into administration. Marks and Spencer has operated in the Trafford Centre since 2001, three years after the opening of the mega shopping mall in Trafford.

Store Manager, Laura Smith, who has worked at M&S for over 25 years, has led the new megastore opening project. She said: “We are really excited to announce that the new M&S Trafford Centre store will open on November 30. I can’t wait to welcome the local community in to visit the store later this month and see it all for themselves.

"Whether you’re looking for a big family food shop, the latest Autumn/Winter styles from our Clothing, Home & Beauty departments, or a mid-shop pit stop in our amazing new M&S Café – we’ve got you covered."

Highlights in the new, fresh-market style Foodhall include displays brimming with great quality, trusted value produce from M&S Select Farms, a bigger-than-ever M&S Bakery offering freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries throughout the day, and a dedicated M&S Wine Shop featuring an award-winning selection of drinks. And with a huge new range of M&S Remarksable products – including Super Soft sliced bread, RSPCA Assured fresh milk, and beef mince from trusted M&S Select Farmers – the new foodhall will deliver trusted value for local customers.
