Lunchtimes have just got three times better with the launch of a trio of festive filling sandwiches in SPAR stores across the North of England.
This year’s Festive Feast sandwich includes delicious turkey, smoked bacon, cranberry sauce, onion and herb stuffing on malted wheat grain bread. What’s more, the Festive Feast sandwich will include a 10p donation to Marie Curie for each sandwich sold.
Joining the Festive Feast in the Christmas line-up is the Cheese and Xmas Chutney sandwich featuring lovely Lancashire Cheese with Hawkshead Relish cranberry, orange and ginger chutney, and soft cream cheese.
The fish option this festive season is a Prawn and Salmon sandwich, with fresh North Atlantic prawns and poached smoked salmon with a spicy cocktail sauce and salad leaves on oatmeal bread.
Also on offer in local stores is the classic free-range egg mayonnaise on malted wheat grain bread, this year made even better by the return of SPAR's popular design competition.
Running until January 2, 2024, SPAR customers have the chance to design the pack of the SPAR brand Egg Mayonnaise sandwich sold in SPAR stores across the North of England.
Celebrating SPAR's partnership with the end-of-life charity, Marie Curie’s signature yellow will need to be included in the design, but customers are being given ‘free range’ on the rest of the design with their creativity and imagination. The winning design will feature on the packaging of SPAR’s Egg Mayonnaise sandwiches for six months, as well as be presented with a BMX scooter.
During the period when the winning sandwich designs will be seen on shelves next spring, every SPAR Egg Mayonnaise sandwich sold in a SPAR store owned or serviced by James Hall & Co. Ltd will contribute 5p to Marie Curie, an increase on the regular one penny per sale pledge that exists across the range throughout the year.
Having sold more than 300,000 Egg Mayonaise sandwiches in the last 12 months, the amount raised has helped pass a pledge of £325,000 since 2016.
Big Deals of Christmas
November is well and truly underway and as the festive season continues to leap into view across all areas of life, SPAR is helping you look after your spending habits with the continuation of its Big Deals of Christmas.
Whether you spend the big day with family or with friends, having a few drinks while playing board games and catching up on Christmas telly is one tradition that can soon empty your pockets.
Aiming to make those festive cocktails go down a little smoother, SPAR's next Big Deal of Christmas has now hit the shelves. Until November 29, you can now get a 70cl bottle of Absolut Vodka for £15.99.
Whether with a mixer or over ice, even the smoothest of Swedish vodkas needs a snack that is just as tasty to accompany it. Offering great value for money without compromising on flavour, SPAR's own-brand tube crisps are £1.50 each until November 29.
From the classic original and sour cream and onion flavours to something a bit different in the form of paprika, these tubed treats are the perfect after-Christmas-dinner snack to stock up on.
Please note this product is only available to people aged 18+. SPAR follows the 'challenge 25 policy' so you may be asked for ID when purchasing. Please drink responsibly. Do not drink if you are pregnant.
Get cracking with your design
SPAR hopes that the competition can help make the dark winter nights a little brighter and you can enter the competition by picking up a colouring template at your local SPAR store. Alternatively, you can download and print the form off at home through the James Hall & Co Ltd. website.
Once you're happy with your eggcellent design, entries can be uploaded via the James Hall & Co. Ltd website, emailed to mariecurie@jameshall.co.uk, or posted directly to the company’s distribution centre marked for the marketing department at: James Hall & Co. Ltd, Bowland View, Preston, PR2 5QT.
Speaking about the hugely successful competition making a return, Imogen Duffin, corporate partnership manager at Marie Curie, said: “As soon as the idea to bring back the Marie Curie design competition was suggested, we were fully supportive of it as we know it struck a chord with SPAR customers.
“We are extremely grateful to SPAR and James Hall & Co. Ltd. The money raised from the sandwich sales will help us be there for anyone with an illness they are likely to die from, and those close to them.”
You can find out more about the competition, as well as a range of other fantastic festive deals by visiting the SPAR website here or popping into your local SPAR store.
