Ramsbottom
Ramsbottom sits on the course of the River Irwell and is one of Bury's most popular tourism destinations because of its rural setting in the West Pennine Moors. The centre of Ramsbottom is served by the East Lancashire Railway and the town is home to the popular Ramsbottom chocolate festival and the world black pudding throwing championships. The towering Peel Monument on Holcombe Moor, a memorial to the founder of the modern-day police service, Sir Robert Peel, attracts thousands of visitors.
