The Ashes
After England were defeated by Australia on home soil for the first time in 1882, a satirical obituary written in the media said that English cricket had died. Sixty-six Test series later, both sides still play for an urn thought to contain the ashes of a cricket bail burnt in that year. In 2013, Old Trafford was staging an Ashes Test for the first time since 2005.
